One of the main projects undertaken by Scouts in Uganda is supporting the Uganda National Expanded Programme for Immunisation. UNICEF support an immunisation badge for Scouts and Guides to help educate mothers on the need to take their babies for immunisation. Further information on immunisation is provided in this book as it is one of the two main areas which Unite will support.

The other area is AIDS awareness and prevention. AIDS is a big problem in Uganda and the government, with the help of UNICEF, are developing a project to help young people find out about AIDS, how to prevent it and then pass this information on to other young people.
