Place this oven in the sun and you can cook potatoes in a few hours time. Through the so called hot house effect the heat from the sun is trapped behind the glass panes. Solar experiments - danger to the eyes If and when you carry out solar cooking and similar exercises that involve finding the 'hot spot' in the focal point of reflected light and heat for the positioning of your cooking utensil, be extremely careful not to get your face and eyes close to the 'hot spot'. Do not look for the 'hot spot' by directly trying to see it - rather seek it by moving a sheet of paper towards and away from the reflector. You should wear sunglasses, for extra eye protection.
