    Another Container goes to Uganda

    As some of you will know, our friends in Avon kindly agreed to support our Uganda 2000 - Resources Appeal. They chose to delay this activity until after the summer in 2000 and I am pleased to advise you that this has now moved forward, thanks to the generous support of the Scout Districts in Avon in providing funding for a container.

    Currently, resources are being collected on a weekly basis and packages stored at the Tytherington Quarry base of Scout Enterprises (Western) Limited in Gloucestershire.

    This could well be our last chance to forward goods. Already we have those remaining from the previous collections, ie from Scout Groups in Middlesex, Wiltshire and Berkshire, so please let me know if there are any further goods to go.

    Based on our previous experience, it is planned to despatch the container so that it arrives and is cleared from Customs, in time for the contents to be unpacked/distributed by the Avon contingent on their visit in August.
