140 UK Scouts have left Gatwick Airport to arrive in Uganda at Entebbe to join the 10 strong Service Crew already in Uganda. The 150 strong contingent is the largest group of UK Scouts ever to visit a developing country and will make a tremendous impact at the forthcoming Uganda Jamboree to be held later this month. They are part of the Uganda 2000 project which is aimed at bringing friendship, understanding and resources to 10 different Districts in Uganda. Relations with the country's Scouts started in 1991 when UNITE was launched. Now 10 years on 150 Scouts and Leaders are continuing that work.

Andrew Cooke, Service Crew Leader and in charge of departures at Gatwick said "Everything is going well and we are looking forward to a challenging time over the next 3 weeks living, working and camping with Uganda's Scouts".
