Pross Twesygie Bahinyoza has been apointed Assistant Chief Commissioner International. Pross first started working for the Uganda Scouts Association in the early 90s as Secretary for UNITE. She spent 3 years in Chicago, USA studying for a degree and then returned to Uganda to work again for Scouts. Unfortunately her time there was not very happy and she resigned to take up employment with SNV a Dutch NGO. Pross has considerable experience in International Scouting and has many friends in the UK. ACC Finance and Administration Paul Bogere returns to the Executive in charge of Finance and Administration. He was the ACC Programme and Training until removed in the changes which took place in 2000. Paul will be welcomed back into this role as a very safe pair of hands. |
Eric Kibbedi appointed ACC Youth Forum Also appointed is Eric Kibbedi DEC of Mayoge District who is now the Assistant Chief Commissioner - Youth Forum. Eric is a loyal supporter of the new Chief Commissioner and is well known in UK Scouting circles. Such is his love of UK Scouting that his home is known as "The UK". One of Eric's first tasks will be to represent the Uganda Scouts Association in Senegal at an HIV/AIDS Conference to be held between 22nd and 26th March. Also attending is Peggy Kemirembe a Rover Scout presently attending Makere University Other Uganda organisations attending are the Girl Guides, Red Cross, YMCA and YWCA with the Scouts being the lead organisers for Uganda. Eric told the UK Uganda Network that he will have several messages to the conference but he wants to urge youths to keep their morality and to be aware that in the villages, towns and cities of Uganda we all live with the deadly HIV/AIDS close by. "As well as protecting our young people we need to help those already infected", he said.
