Uganda 2003 16th August 2003 Well 18 scouts from Epsom and Ewell have arrived safely in Uganda. We were picked up ok and found our way to BP House in Kampala. We had a great welcome and met Eric from Mayuge. We spent the night in Jinja overlooking the River Nile.. wonderful! After a busy time in Jinja, picking up food and equipment, we spent a relaxing evening at Jinja Sailing Club. Tuesday morning, the group split into 2 as planned. One team have gone to Mayuge and the other to Tororo. Only Tororo have access to internet and this is several miles away! (We have a great photo to send you of us at BP House but can't quite work out the technology at the moment). In Tororo, we camped
overnight with Ugandan scouts. They were very friendly Some of our group are currently undertaking delivery of the playground which we hope to start installing this afternoon. Our contact could be limited but we will do what we can. Everyone sends their best wishes to parents. We are all fine. We're slowly getting used to the food and lack of facilities. Will try to contact when we can. The Ugandan Scout Crew
