126 Scouts and Leaders camped over the weekend 1/2 July at Youlebury in Oxford. The last contingent get together before departing for Uganda. Only the Bristol contingent were missing having arranged an alternative location earlier in the year. The rendition of the Ugandan National Anthem on recorder echoed through the camp. The camp was visited by International Commissioner David Bull and International Secretary David McKee.
Marion urgently needs the following documentation. Photocopy of passports, two passport photos for ID badges, signed Health Declaration, and the remaining balance of payment. Challenging Country First Aid Training given to 33 Unit First Aiders has been provided at Bentley Copse Camp Site near Guildford.
Leader Training benefits over 30 Ugandan Scout Leaders, provided by Scouts Leaders and others from Bristol.
The Central Planning Committee has accepted that Home Hospitality will be a feature of the visit.

Geoff Dunstan, our man dealing with Containers, has reported that 6 containers will go to Uganda this year. It is hoped to increase that number to 10 when the effects of this years visit are assessed in the Autumn and the Uganda UK Network Meeting.
President of the Republic of Uganda, Yoweri K Museveni, has sent a message of support to the members of the UK / Uganda Network.
Eric Goulding, District Chairman of the Farnham District in Surrey has been appointed Contingent Leader by the Management Committee of Uganda 2000. Eric has a long history of experience in Uganda having first gone their to help re-decorate BP House and since then has been responsible for the Surrey Books for All project which sent resources to Iganga.
The First Contingent training weekend has been held in Cheshire brining together over 80 young people and leaders for the first time on their journey to Africa.
The contingent to visit Uganda in August 2000 is closed. 150 Young People and Leaders will visit this year to undertake various projects, climb Mount Elgon, undertake Explorer Belt Expeditions, live and work with Ugandan Scouts in villages and at the Camporee.
